Newtown Hopital

The work at Newtown Hospital, Newtown, Powys consisted of:

Refurbishings wards, internal alterations including plumbing, electrical, plastering, flooring, decorating and forming reception areas. 

The contract was on a Fast Track basis therefore we had to complete within a 10 week period.

 

Ebbw Vale Hospital

£7m conversion of valleys ex-miners long stay hospital to 36 en-suite bedroom private hospital facility for clients with mental health issues.

The vast majority of the internal structure of the building was demolished, strengthened and completely re-organized.

Mining tunnels were filled & made structurally sound.

Design & construction have paid great attention to the security & safety of it’s clients, reaching the core standards level.

Two secure garden areas and car parks have been constructed as external works

 

 

Bronllys Hospital

This £300,000 contract for Powys Health board was to convert an existing hospital ward into offices for administration with a dedicated I.T. wing and computer server room, whilst maintaining services and access to the first floor and adjoining buildings allowing continuous operation of those areas.

The job involved an extensive M&E component, consisting of new hot and cold water systems, air conditioning, wiring for power, lighting, data and alarms, and a gas fire suppression system in the server room.  A new underground water main was provided to overcome a potential problem with legionellas, and new distribution boards and sub mains were installed whilst maintaining the existing supply.

Building work included extensive decoration, new and upgraded doors, partitions, suspended ceilings and vinyl flooring, and was carried out in areas containing asbestos to the satisfaction of the CDM coordinator.

Externally areas were re-rendered, new gutters and fascias installed, and roof repairs carried out.

The client had a strictly limited budget and close co-operation with the design team was necessary in order to give full value engineering and identify cost savings where possible in order to avoid cost over runs.

The contract took four months and was completed on time in June 2013 to the satisfaction of all concerned.
